Carolina PALS Miles For Smiles Funride 1997

This is the second annual Carolina PALS (Pediatric Attention, Love, and Support) funride. Last year over 100 people came for the 9.2 mile ride. Carolina PALS is a student organization at UNC-Chapel Hill devoted to developing friendships with chronically ill children at UNC hospitals. These kids, as well as other children, college students, and local biking enthusiasts participated in the ride last year. We expect anywhere from 200-400 participants this year. In addition to the ride, local country station WPCM 101.1 will be at the event and there will be a raffle drawing at the end of the ride with prizes donated from local merchants, including Performance Bike Shop . Technicians from Performance will be attending to give safety checks and tune-ups. There will be a Bike Safety Rodeo put on by the Raleigh Optimist Club for smaller children. This is a great opportunity to include in your riding schedule both for yourself and for your whole family. Please come and support us by bringing yourself and your family and by letting people know about the ride. See you there!
