Topic: Ride Report - RAGBRAI: 2011

Presenter: Frederick Hubbard

NCBC's own Fred Hubbard will describe his adventures of RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) last year. The presentation will include photo highlights of the seven-day, 450-mile "Tour of the Corn". Fred will describe why he rode RAGBRAI, and the lessons he learned that will be applied to RAGBRAI-2013. You can decide if you may or may not want to try this event in the future. Registration for RAGBRAI-2012 is currently open, so now is the time to start planning!

We'll meet to eat at 6:00, and the club meeting will start at 7:00.

Notes from the webmasters [Prior notes]
11/19/11
David
I'll be leading a 62-mile New Year's Day ride from Macgregor Village Shopping Center at 10:00 on Sunday, January 1.  No registration, just a ride.  One store stop at 40 miles, but others store are on route.   I'll probably ride at 18-19 mph pace; others may be faster or slower.   Precipitation of any type cancels. [Cue Sheet]

There will also be a pair of 38-mile rides starting at the same time and place, with a store stop at the 17-mile mark.  Bob Oderkirk will lead a group at a 15-17 mph pace, and Zonda Hillman will lead a group at a 13-15 mph pace.  [Cue Sheet] [Map]
